On August 6, 2011, Dannie Love & Eric Gibaud became Mr. and Mrs. with the Belle Rose Maison as their lovely backdrop. I am a sucker for a vintage claw foot tub and makes for an adorable pic! Images by T. Marie Photography captured the grand affair!

There's no doubt that the cupcake post featuring Frost Bake Shoppe was a hit. But, did you know that cupcakes are not the only thing they spread their confectionery sweetness on? Their thick, delicious sugar cookies are just as scrumptious and can be decorated in oh-so-many adorable ways. Photos courtesy of Frost Bake Shoppe

Several wedding trends for 2013 are sure to make a big impact, especially in bridal gown selections. Here is a list of a few that caught our attention! Two-Toned Wedding Gowns Designers such as Oscar de la Renta have incorporated two colors in their creations, as seen here. White represents innocence and purity, while blue symbolizes love. This makes for a dress with symbolic meaning, as well as putting a twist on the traditional white gown. Wedding Suit The wedding suit is a perfect alternative for brides who do not want to hassle with a heavy gown. This Carolina Herrera suit is perfect for a casual ceremony, destination wedding, or vow renewal. Peplum Skirts In the early ‘90s, the peplum skirt was all the rage. It has slowly been making a comeback, but in 2013 the trend will be in full force. Designers like Amsale are incorporating this style more frequently using tulle, satin, lace and silk. Remember…before choosing your wedding gown make sure you have decided on the type of wedding you plan to have (afternoon wedding, Black-tie, destination wedding, etc.). You certainly don’t want to wear a ball gown to your wedding on the beach. On May 27, 2012, high-school sweethearts Frances Luong and Ryan McQuiston became husband and wife in a fantastic golf course ceremony at The Woodlands Resort. I am simply in love with the lovely lavender color scheme and the sweet moments Alicia Pyne Photography captured of this affair. "Ultimately, the bridesmaid's dresses chose the wedding colors. I found a beautiful Amsale bridesmaid dress from Nordstrom on super sale early in the wedding process. Everything else was built around these dresses: groomsmen tuxes, flowers, invitations, wedding programs, Bridesmaid gifts/jewelry, wedding style, etc." -Frances "We grew up in the same neighborhood but we don't remember when we actually met. Our first class together was in jr high. We became best friends in high school & fell in love in college at the University of Texas. We had been dating for a couple of years by the time senior year had come around and were both interviewing for graduate schools and jobs in the fall of our Sr yr. Our hard work proved to be worthwhile because we were both able to pursue our dreams, but it was bittersweet since we committed to cities across the country from each other. Ryan was to be a process engineer nearby his dream city of, San Francisco, and I was going to be a student in a doctoral pharmacy program. Being in a long distance relationship, which lasted 4 years, was one of the best and challenging experiences for both of us. We learned how to be independent and how to communicate better; we fell more deeply in love."
-Frances Hello! Today, I am so excited to share these handmade paper wreaths and wedding decor with you! The best part is they are made by one of The Woodlands' own resident, Katie Lloyd of Anthology on Main! I chatted with Katie about her flowers and how brides could get one customized for their own wedding! WB: What inspired you to create your handmade paper wreaths and decor? KL: Last year I had seen a lot of paper wreaths, however, most of those wreaths used new paper and I wanted a greener alternative, so I turned to used books. Whenever possible I use older hardcover books as the paper quality is far superior to paperbacks. I use various fiction titles but avoid genres that tend to have offensive words and phrases. WB: This is a perfect product for an eco-conscious bride! Can you tell us about your materials? KL: I use 99% of each and every book and believe strongly in the "waste not, want not" philosophy. From one book I am able to make rosettes, carnations, pom pom garlands (coming very soon to the shop!), and ornaments (coming later this year). I also upcycle the hardcovers into purses and journals, as well as make my own paper from the scraps of the above projects and use this handmade paper for more rosettes and notecards. WB: Okay, so if a bride wanted to purchase one of your products, what would she need to know? KL: The wreaths and kissing balls in my shop can both be customized. I offer 29 color choices for the flowers and the clients' choice of ribbon color for the kissing balls, all free of charge. I currently offer six sizes of kissing balls and am able to take requests for different sizes of wreaths. Further customization can be added to an order for additional fees. These options include color matching, such as matching a kissing ball to the same shade as a bridesmaid dress, as well as the choice of book titles used. For custom orders, a potential client simply needs to contact me through my Etsy shop with their requests: quantity, sizes, colors, etc. Once we have worked through all the details I create a custom listing for them in my shop where they then purchase their personalized and unique order! Right now my lead time for creating a custom order is approximately 3 months. Hello! I am so glad to be back with you from my little vacation and excited to share this rustic, off-beat wedding style session with a contemporary twist.
