Do you picture your wedding lakeside, in a lush garden, or under a canopy of trees? If you imagine saying your vows surrounded by nature, then an outdoor wedding is perfect. This is a list some of the best venues in The Woodlands, and surrounding area, for a picture-perfect outdoor wedding.
Lakeside Love
If you want a lakeside wedding, check out the lakeside terrace at The Woodlands Conference and Resort. You could also head north to Lake Conroe. La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa has three options: a wedding beachfront, along their marina or in their Palm Court, perfect for accommodating a large event. April Sound Country Club is also on Lake Conroe, with a gazebo overlooking the water; it creates a serene setting for your ceremony.
Garden Gala
If you had more of a garden setting in mind, visit La Tranquila Ranch in Spring. You can exchange vows in the garden and then head inside to The Villa or The Ballroom reception facilities. We love Belle Rose Maison, in Conroe, for the same reason. You can have the ceremony outside in the Greek Temple garden and then treat your guests to an elegant reception in a mansion-setting with chandeliers and iron scrollwork.
Vintage Gardens
Heather’s Glen, a historic home in Conroe, offers a lush garden and gazebo for your wedding and seating along patios or they can enjoy your event inside the garden room. Picture a lovely patio garden set outside a lovely 1800s home in Montgomery, and you have the absolutely perfect Hodge Podge Lodge. The birdcages and lights suspended from the Live Oaks steals my heart everytime.
Private Ranch
Host your outdoor ceremony on 20 acres of a private, wooded ranch at Lazy Acres Ranch in Magnolia. Just six miles south of famous Old Town Spring is Shady Oaks. If you are a sucker for a little white chapel (which I totally am) then, you need to check this place out. They are both perfect venues for the bride who wants to embrace her inner Texan.
Best of Both Worlds
If you want the ambiance of an outdoor wedding without sacrificing the comfort of you or your guests, then you need to see the glass-enclosed ballroom at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center.
An outdoor wedding is charming, and The Woodlands landscape provides the perfect backdrop for your event. But, our temperamental Texas weather can add a certain level of stress too. Always have a backup plan in case of rain (or in some cases extreme heat). If it is going to be warm, be sure to offer bottled water and a fan for your guests during the ceremony.
