If you savor antique stores or adore curiosity shops, then a vintage-themed wedding would probably suit you. Putting together the wedding decor is a matter of simply finding meaningful antique items and discovering interesting ways to re-purpose them.
If you are a bride on a budget, you can save by raiding your grandparents' attic or renting the items from somewhere like Recollection Vintage Rentals.
Here are a few of my favorite vintage wedding decor ideas.
Skeleton Keys
Why I Love Them: Besides the obvious "key to my heart" symbolism, skeleton keys remind me of the romantic Victorian era. They are relatively inexpensive and can be used so many creative ways. You can use them to dress up the stem of your bouquets. Attach your place cards to them and allow each guest to take it home as your favor. Include a ring of them on the table as part of the tablescape. I found these skeleton at the Etsy shop Chanchala.

Lace
Of course I love lace at weddings! And I especially love these lace rings by The Papery Nook. The lace gives them a sweet vintage feel but the simple geometric shape keeps it clean and modern. Hang them from the ceiling, trees, or backs of chairs.

Milk Glass I adore milk glass. I love it in the pure and simple white but I also love it in all the retro shades of mint, pink, yellow, coral, and of course turquoise. Round up a mismatched collection of vases for your centerpieces. This lovely find is from Barking Sands Vintage. |
Card Catalog
You don't have to be a librarian to appreciate how useful a card catalog could be at a wedding. Alphabetize your seating arrangements by name. Guests can pull library due date cards with their name and table number. Likewise, guests can file their good wishes or sound advice back into the catalog. This one is from Jolly Time One.

Library Books Books are an excellent way to add interest to a tablescape and antique books are beautiful in their simplistic design. I love the collection at Decades of Vintage because you can shop by color and purchase a collection that compliments your color scheme perfectly. |
Antique Scales
These are so great for highlighting special items and adding height to a tablescape. You can serve a platter of Hors d'oeuvre from the top or even find one large enough to use as a cake stand. This one is from Moontower Vintage.

Birdcages Very vintage and very Southern, and I love the details of this birdcage from Forest Daydream. You decorate with a bird cage in so many ways. You can place a bouquet inside and use as a centerpiece or as a place for guests to place their cards. |
Sola Flowers
If you are not familiar with sola flowes, they are made from soft tapioca wood. They can be formed to look like many different types of flowers and can be dyed to match any color. I love them because they can be used in so many ways without loosing the soft, natural feel of real flowers. String them on twine for a beautiful garland, create napkin rings, even use them in your bouquet. I found these and tons of others at Supply Crate.
