The engagement session of Laura + Joshua by Christine Gosch incorporates all the sweet things in life - sunshine, yummy treats and pretty lace. Love was definitely in the air during this photo shoot, with even a hint of red. (Don't those cherries look delish?) The moment I laid eyes on Darlyne Miller's Top O' The Hill barn, I was smitten. The gorgeous views and fun, rustic elements definitely warmed this country girl's heart. So, of course, I jumped at the idea of getting to be a part of this gorgeous style shoot! We had the pleasure of working with some of our favorite vendors. We're featuring gorgeous florals from Carter's, Makeup by Keri Ann and more, all captured by Kasey Lynn Photography and Bella Vista Productions (stay tuned for more from them of this lovely session!) These colors are so unexpected and fresh! We came across this inspiration board while stalking Burnett's Boards blog (which has amazing, daily wedding inspiration.) Easily incorporate a little gold or green, rustic or modern details - the ideas are endless. Burnett's Boards writes: This peach and teal wedding inspiration board is a match made in heaven. It has a slight vintage vibe because of the antique gold touches and vintage books so it would look amazing for an early fall wedding. Along with your peach and teal palette add crisp clean whites and hints of blush to pull it all together! What do you think of this color combo? Check it out on Burnett's Boards. photo credits: table and teal couch from Elizabeth Anne Designs, photographed by Laura Ivanova // flower in teal vase from Style Me Pretty, photographed by Flory Photo // peach and teal bouquet fromSarah Winward, photographed by Rachel Thurston // cake via Wedding Chicks, photographed byWhite Loft Style, created by Eat Cake! // drink on books from 100 Layer Cake, photographed by IYQ Photography // place setting via Style Me Pretty, photographed by Elizabeth Messina. Esther + AyoKunle were married in a Nigerian wedding held at La Torretta on Lake Conroe. Wedding Fanatics! sent us their wedding day video and had this to say about the couple: "The wind and rain couldn’t dampen the beauty of this very special wedding. Held at La Torretta on Lake Conroe, Esther and AyoKunle’s wedding was spiritual, sweet and fun. Nigerian weddings are so vibrant, both visually and emotionally, and we were thrilled to experience and capture this couple’s special day on film." Videographer: Wedding Fanatics! / Music: “That’s What Love Is” performed by Dara MacLean and “Sunshine Love” performed by Miss Amani Emily + Derek chose a springtime outdoor wedding at the beautiful Belle Rose Maison venue in Conroe - with wedding photography by Amy Watson Photography. The couple chose the theme of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with pastel colors throughout (just look at those bouquets!) and classy vintage decor. They also served guests a nice brunch that included farm raised egg omelets, fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes and fresh juice. The gorgeous cake completed the look and was created by one of our featured vendors, Dream Cakes. Lots of ideas to take away from this one! Then be sure to tune in every Wednesday! Each week we spotlight a flower that may be just the element to build your dream bouquet. Today, we are sharing forsythia with you. It is a lovely, sunny yellow plant that is a great way to add height to an arrangement. They also have a great woodsy stem which is great if you are going for that rustic look. Visit her website or follow her on Facebook for even more loveliness! What a treat we have for you on the blog today! Marilyn Duvall Photography sent us this gorgeous local photo shoot and her vision behind it. She wanted to go back in time and shoot "something very timeless and romantic" (think old telephone booth). Her subject: Jason + Katie Lamb. (You probably recognize this name!) The sparkly dress, pin curled hair, and red lipstick - what a glamorous and classy session! And an easy subject to shoot. Photographer: Marilyn Duvall Photography / Hair: Billy Jones with OnSite Hair Designs / Makeup: Sandra Mata / Styling: Marilyn Duvall & Jessica Sowryda We adore this engagement session by CivicPhotos - it's modern, fresh and offbeat. The couple posed in front of a cool restaurant overlooking Clear Lake. Then later, captured some lovely shots at the local marina. The couple had fun with some props - like wooden signs and hula hoops. We love CivicPhotos' ability to find the most unique spots around the Houston area for photo sessions! Photographer: CivicPhotos / Submitted via Two Bright Lights Past brides have told us time and time again that they wish they had more creative - and memorable - wedding photos to look back on. Always trending on Pinterest are wedding photo ideas and poses that photographers, as well as brides, have come up with - some funny, some sweet, and some offbeat. For today's Friday Favorites, we have put together some ideas and tips for making sure you get the photos and poses you want on your wedding day. Some tips: #1. Make sure you and your wedding photographer have a meeting before your wedding day where you discuss certain poses, must-have photo opportunities, and any certain style of photography you want. #2. Share your photo vision with a Maid of Honor, bridesmaid or other "coordinator" so they can help oversee the photo process and make sure you get the poses/photos you intend. Be careful this person does not step on the photographer's toes. #3. Figure out a wedding schedule so you can be sure to pencil in enough time for you to take the photos you want without rushing. Decide with your photographer and/or wedding planner what photos you want taken before the wedding, during the wedding and afterwards. (Another idea we love are the Day After Sessions that Katie Lamb Photography offers - where sometime after the wedding, couples can take the time to get all the shots they want, at a fun location.) #4. Use Pinterest for all its glory! Pin away, and you may even want to share a certain board with your photographer ahead of time. Vendor Love Speaking of photos, we would like to welcome Good Times TX Photo Booth Rentals to our Vendor Guide! They feature a large photo booth (can fit up to 16 people in it!), they create customized artwork for every event and their staff is present at your event to assist guests with poses, props and printouts. For a stress-free and affordable way to entertain your guests, check out Good Times TX vendor listing. Another lovely Katie Lamb Photography wedding to show you today. The wedding of Will + Justi was a reflection of them, says their photographer. The couple got married in the church that Justi grew up in then had a noon reception in their friend's backyard, on the lake. The beloved Hamburger Man catered the reception and everyone enjoyed an afternoon outside under the big Texas sky. What we love most about this wedding are all those gorgeous handmade details! We love a good DIY wedding - with ideas brides can actually use. Get all the deets below (and get that Pin button ready!)
