Are you ready for this swoon-worthy wedding? Ashlee Kettleborough married Derek Noah on October 13, 1012 at the Houston Oaks Country Club. The Caspian blue wedding featured gorgeous flowers by LZ Floral and a beautifully classic white wedding cake by Susie's Cakes. Best wishes Mr. and Mrs. Noah!
How did Derek pop the question?
After about 2 and a half years of dating, Derek proposed while snorkeling at Xel Ha in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We were on a "girls only" trip to celebrate Derek's sister going off to UTMB, Well... Derek crashed the girls only trip but it was well worth it! All I have to say is I was in shock! At first, I thought he was joking (as he "thinks" he's a comedian sometimes) and started to laugh at him and gave him a playful push in the water. Then he reassured me he was being serious. I don't remember his words now but I all I could answer with was a couple of quick nods because I was totally numb! Finally, after shedding some tears I was able to answer "yes!". That night we shared the news at dinner at the resort with the family with us on vacation. The hardest part was waiting until we reached the mainland (5 days later!) to spread the news to the rest of our family and friends.
What is a moment that really stands out in your mind?
Derek and I did a first look with our photographer. I am so thankful we did this because it allowed us about 15 minutes to talk and laugh and just enjoy the moment. Not only did we get some time together, Kasey, our photographer made it about us. We were so relaxed and just had fun while she took some amazing pictures.
What inspired your wedding decor?
I wanted something soft and romantic when it came to our wedding decor/colors. It first started by choosing a ivory gold wedding dress. I knew there would be no white from that point on! That's how we began with the champagne color, then I found the bridesmaid dresses at Jcrew and fell in love with caspian blue. The grey was added in the invitations and finally the ivory, green, and blue flowers last. I didn't want it to be a straight match with colors but it came together great!
What was your wedding day splurge item?
Our splurge item was definitely our transportation. I will give Derek full credit on this one! He brought up about 4 months before the wedding wanting a classic/vintage car and we began looking. We found Monarch Limo and they had a Roles Royce available for our wedding night. It was a easy decision to make!
